My friends and I began a tradition recently - an annual dinner and craft night - to make shrinky-dink holiday ornaments. We all have very different styles overall, so of course our decorations have vastly different looks. Plus the skill levels vary a lot in the coloring and cutting out process too.
You put the shreds of crayon in between two layers of max paper and then use the iron to heat the colored wax so it melts together. Then you can trim the solid piece into any shape you want. If you make the color layer thin enough then light will shine through for a stained glass window effect. With my history of creative decorating, the nostalgia of sitting down around the table with homemade ornaments gets me in the holiday mood.
And lots of yummy treats certainly help to fuel the Creativity too.
All the important "C"s : Chocolates! Cookies! Cocktails! Christmas!
And here is my completely decorated little rosemary tree!
